Finished overall dimensions of the spring were 9″ by 1.75″ using .375 wire diameter, manufactured holding a tight ± 0.015″ tolerance on all formed dimensions. 16,000 springs were fabricated for this project, custom packaged and shipped to the customer in Minnesota. For more details about this custom torsion spring fabrication or our other manufacturing services please see the table below or contact us directly. Argo Spring was commissioned to complete the manufacturing of a custom spiral torsion spring to be utilized in an agricultural equipment application. Employing on-site state-of-the-art equipment, 17-7 PH stainless steel was manipulated with blanking. The coil spring was formed with our highly developed winding process, per the customer supplied 2D CAD drawings. Excess material was trimmed, and the spring was heat treated to eliminate incurred production stresses and to increase strength and wear resistance. The part was thoroughly tested and inspected for quality and accuracy with functionality testing, as well as visual, and dimensional inspection methods.
