Precision Springs
Instead of conventional springs, many applications we support require precision springs with strict specifications for shape, length, diameter, and elasticity. Argo Spring has the engineering know-how and equipment to meet these requirements.
Our spring manufacturing systems include computer numerical control (CNC) coilers, mechanical coilers, and wire forming equipment, enabling us to create nearly any type of precision spring product in any quantity. These machines feature rotary feeding and guidance mechanisms that facilitate forming even complex springs without adjustments.
In addition to standard precision spring products, we offer the following custom options:
- Compression. These are linear load-resistant models that store energy efficiently for diverse uses.
- Extension. Extension springs offer reliable resistance to pulling forces as well as ideal return force, regardless of spring position.
- Torsion & Double Torsion. These springs enable smooth movement with rotational forces (i.e., torque).
- Clock (Power). These are close-wound springs that can be coiled around a central shaft to store rotational energy.
- Leaf. These springs are ideal for motion control in small mechanical assemblies.
Metal Stamping, Four-Slide Products, and Fabrication
We provide metal stamping services with mechanical and hydraulic presses, for both small-volume or long-run, high-volume production. Tooling is developed in-house with electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment.
We also use CNC presses and wire EDM equipment to develop custom tooling and dies. Four-slide stamping in particular can reduce the need for secondary operations since a blank can be struck from multiple axes in succession without realigning the workpiece. We work to ensure dimensional integrity of all stampings throughout production.
Our capabilities include:
- Blanking. This process cuts shapes from a sheet metal blank with a die and punch.
- Forming. Metal forming operations we provide include stretching, winding, bending, thinning, and folding.
- Drawing. We use deep drawing to pull metal sheet material into forming dies to create domes, cylinders, and other three-dimensional features.

We can stamp components that meet MIL-1-45208A and other military specifications.

We provide custom and standard torsion and other springs for farming and agricultural equipment.

We have manufactured extension springs and other products for aerospace applications.
Industrial
Solutions for this industry include custom titanium wire forms made via cold-drawn, Beta C-treated titanium.
Wire Forms
Wire forming is the process of bending, coiling, or otherwise shaping metal wire into specific shapes and configurations. Wires can be shaped manually or with CNC equipment and wrapped around mandrels or coiled with great precision. Clips, brackets, fasteners, and other components are often made with wire forming processes.

Precision Screw Machining
Argo got its start with screw machining in 1940 through our ACME Screw Machine Products division, and our current employees have more than 100 years of collective experience in screw machining. We use state-of-the-art screw machines to produce small, intricate components and fasteners of superior quality for many custom applications. Our specific capabilities include milling, slotting, inner and outer diameter threading, cross drilling, pick-up and back machining, broaching, and trepanning to achieve the desired results.

Mechanical Assembly and Packaging
Our assembly and packaging services provide a complete solution that streamlines your manufacturing process. We offer mechanical assembly and finishing services along with custom packaging so components reach your facility ready for use.
